A Christmas Miracle in 350 Parts
Our first-year apprentices organized a Christmas campaign in collaboration with our bilingual grade school ROBIGS for the ninth time this year to bring joy to children from the region around Lingen (Ems), Germany. The Rosenxt Group also took part in the campaign. On Thursday, December 12, 2024, a total of 350 Christmas presents were handed over to the youth welfare office of the city of Lingen (Ems) (Jugendamt Lingen) and the Catholic Association for Social Services in Lingen e.V. (SKM). Christina Johanning, Fenja Burrichter (both SKM), and Sophia Bollmann, as well as Christof Helming (City of Lingen), also accepted a donation totaling €4,000.
"The Christmas campaign shows impressively how much good we can do together. It is a matter close to our hearts to support children in our region and give them a wonderful Christmas. I would like to thank our dedicated trainees, the elementary school and all employees who participated with great commitment," said Carlos Sabido Ponce, Lingen site manager of the ROSEN Group, at the handover ceremony.
Dirk van Vinckenroye, General Manager of Rosenxt, also expressed his enthusiasm: "It was a pleasure for us at Rosenxt to be part of this wonderful campaign this year. It is impressive what we were able to achieve together thanks to the commitment of the trainees and the cooperation between the two companies."
The donation is made up of the proceeds from the trainee waffle baking campaign and donations from employees from both companies. ROSEN and Rosenxt then topped up the sum collected. The money will benefit numerous children in 2025 via the SKM and the youth welfare office.
A Christmas wish tree as the centerpiece of the campaign
The heart of the campaign is the Christmas wish tree. The children from the ROBIGS bilingual grade school made decorative stars with numbers representing each child's Christmas wish. These stars were hung on Christmas trees at the ROSEN Group's Lingen site and at Rosenxt. Employees from both companies were able to take a star and help fulfill the children's wishes.
"As soon as I was introduced to the Christmas campaign, I was immediately enthusiastic," said Justus Wilming, a prospective IT specialist for system integration in his first year of training. "It was a great feeling to collect so many donations and presents for children for whom this is not a normal thing. The best thing was that the entire team and all colleagues got behind it and lent a hand."
During the donation and gift handover, the pupils from ROBIGS created a festive atmosphere with cheerful songs and helping hands loading the lovingly wrapped gifts.
